Celebrate America’s semiquincentennial and explore the day-to-day work of women throughout the Revolution that shaped their lives and the new nation in “Founding Mothers: Revolutionary Women’s Work.”

The exhibition features artifacts and material culture left behind by women of the era to tell the story of their ordinary lives during an extraordinary period. In the exhibition, visitors will learn about women’s influence on home and social life, the family economy, and the war itself. Though Clinton was not yet founded during the Revolution, the efforts of 18th century women paved the way for ”Schooltown” in the 19th century by expanding public perception of female capabilities.
