Madison County Historian Matthew Urtz looks at events that made national news from the formation of Madison County (several of which touched on Oneida County) through the mid-20th century. His talk includes colorful tales and salacious stories of the famous murders, arsons, crimes and scandals in our region's history. Our speaker was appointed Madison County Historian in April 2010, and serves on the Cabinet of Freedom for the National Abolition Hall of Fame and Museum and in numerous other history and preservation organizations. His articles have been published in multiple local and regional newspapers and magazines. The program will be in-person at our 1 Fountain St. location on Sunday April 10th from 2:00 to 4:00 pm.
